Between 35° and 47° N latitudes and 6° and 19° E longitudes Italy is located in southern Europe. Officially Italy is named as “Italian Republic”. Of the European fauna Italy is placed in third position with the peak level in faunal biodiversity. Capital of Italy is Rome which is named as Eternal City. Italy is populated with approximately 60 Million people. Towards north of Italy in Italian Alps located with mountain peak called “Monte Bianco” or Mont Blanc which is 4, 807 m. The longest river of Italy is Po Valley which is located towards the north with long and deeply spread and the country flattens in the Po valley. The Apennines are the next highest mountain range which seperates the East and west of the country. Italy is reputated with Volcanoes. There are 3 volcanoes namely Vesuvius in Naples, Etna on Sicily and Stromboli off the coast of Italy. Some of the attractions of Italy include: Michelangelo with famous museums, Tower of Pisa in Pisa, Venice, Rome, Ravenna, Tuscancy, Alps. Italian food includes Pizza which is most commonly exported. Italians introduced ice creams, coffee and fruit pies to the world. Italians culture is showcased through their artistic works, like Leonardo da Vinci created Mona Lisa. Italians are innovative and make discoveries as it was proved by Christopher Columbus and amerigo Vespucci who explored Americas and Marco Polo.
